What is the Oklahoma School of Ministry?
The Oklahoma School of Ministry (OSOM) is an excellent opportunity to raise ministers in the local church! This is accomplished by providing courses for ministry students, seasoned ministers, and Christian workers. Students will develop through home study, classroom instruction, and active involvement in ministry. OSOM provides students with quality instruction and resources. Experienced ministry facilitators lead each course, helping students understand the materials. They also offer insights from their ministry and leadership experiences.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
For those seeking credentials:
OSOM provides the required courses needed for credentials with the Assemblies of God. In one year, students can complete one level of ministry courses. After three years, they will have met the requirements for Ordination credentials!
For volunteer church leaders:
Volunteers are vital to a church's effectiveness in ministry. Through OSOM, students will be challenged to develop their faith and leadership skills. They will grow in their knowledge and gain valuable insight into all aspects of ministry. Because our students are currently active in ministry in a local church, they provide valuable help to one another. This is accomplished through classroom discussions, personal conversations, and relationship building.
For the Minister:
The ministry is a lot like other professions; continuing education is always needed. We must be students of the Word. Every sermon we preach or every lesson we teach is greatly affected by the time we spend in Bible study. We encourage every credentialed minister to continue their education. Each Global University course has an independent study text and student packet that are fresh and energizing. This is a terrific way for each minister in Oklahoma to deepen their ministry calling.
