Hello Annas,

I hope you had a great Christmas!

Luke 6:12 says, "Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray and continued all night in prayer to God.  And when it was day, He called His disciples to Himself and from them he chose twleve..."

As I was reading this passage this week it seemed to jump out to me--"Before Jesus made one of the most important decisions of his life, the night before He called His disciples to Himself, He spent the entire night in prayer seeking the will of the Father."

Jesus knew He needed the guidance of the Holy Spirit.  He needed a Word from God.  If Jesus the Son of God needed to spend time seeking the Father about His decisions, how much more do we need to spend time in prayer seeking God's guidance for the decisions we will make in 2009.

May this New Year be a year each of us learn to wait before Him seeking Him about everything we face.  He has promised to lead, guide and direct our steps.

Remember:  The steps of a righteous man are ordered by the Lord.
