Campus Ministry

District Youth Alive Coordinators

Youth Alive is a philosophy to reach the school campus for Jesus Christ. Youth Alive strives to EQUIP, ENCOURAGE, and EMPOWER students on their campus for Christ. Its goal is to present the gospel to every student before they graduate. It is a strategy to reach out to the campus through student-led, and student initiated campus club ministry.
I. WHAT IS YOUTH ALIVE?
A. A Bible Club with a three fold purpose.
1. It should meet the spiritual need of a campus. In so doing it becomes a place (club) where the Christians on campus can come to share their needs, have their needs prayed for, receive encouragement from the word of God, etc.
2. It should be evangelistic. It will endeavor to present the gospel to the campus through a variety of methods. Personal witnessing, special events like SEE YOU AT THE POLE, TRUE LOVE WAITS, YOUTH ALIVE ASSEMBLIES AND RALLIES, etc.
3. It should be service oriented. Youth Alive clubs should strive to provide a service back to the campus through various endeavors such as: clean-up days, canned food drives, providing Christmas and Thanksgiving baskets for needy families, volunteering for work details through the school office, etc. Being a servant is often the greatest display of true Christian dedication.
B. Youth Alive is a campus Bible Club that meets regularly for:
1. Encouragement
2. Prayer
3. Bible Study
4. Evangelism
5. Fellowship
6. Etc.
C. Youth Alive is School Assemblies.
1. Assembly programs - are presented to the student body to address the various issues that face youth such as: Drugs, Self Esteem, Relationships, Suicide, Alcohol, etc. These assemblies are motivational/inspirational in nature and are intended to be an extension of the school administration in building a better student body, and addressing key issues that may be unique to that school.
2. Evening Rallies - are presented in the evening after school hours on the school premises if possible. The rally usually consists of pizza, music, prizes, and of course, the presentation of the gospel. In this setting the students are invited back for the night rally, (pizza bash), on their own. Here the gospel may be presented, where as, it may not be presented in the school assembly.
3. Assembly speakers - The
D. Youth Alive IS NOT...
1. An extension of any one church to recruit new members. When Youth Alive Bible clubs are conducted correctly they will embrace Christian students from as may local churches as possible. Youth Alive is a multi- denominational effort to present the Gospel of Christ. It should never be used as a vehicle to enhance "one" particular group.
2. A time of discussing controversial issues - doctrinal, social, or otherwise. Although there are several issues the individual Christian must "come to grips with", the Youth Alive Bible club is not the place to use as a platform to address, or otherwise, present differences of doctrinal beliefs, opinions concerning social issues, or any other issue that would otherwise take the focus off the clear presentation of Jesus Christ. It has been said that, "diversity in our doctrinal beliefs are what make us strong not weak," but Youth Alive is where the body of Christ is to come together - not define its differences.
